Vespa LX 125 Displaying in the International Auto Show Mumbai

About 60 years ago, in a market dominated by Japanese companies, an Italian motor company manufactured its first scooter. In a short time that scooter became one of the most loved and wanted icons in the world. Every motor lover knows about the Indian adventure of Vespa. Now Vespa is making a big come back with Vespa LX 125 at the International Auto Show Mumbai. The launch of the scooter is set to the end of 2012. Now everyone is wondering how much it would cost because there is no official statement about the pricing in India. In the United Kingdom, the 125 cc model is being sold for around 3000 pounds.

If you look for a sports bike, the Vespa LX 125 should not be your choice. Its wheels are small but there is no balance problem with this baby. Its turning circle is good and in jammed traffic it is easy to ride. Like all the other Piaggio, its suspensions are not very good, but this doesn’t cause much problem. Vespa LX 125 is not suitable for carrying heavy things. It has a small compartment under seat for a briefcase or shopping bag. Two people can ride on its double seat easily if they are not oversized. On the dashboard there is a fuel indicator and a clock.
If we come to the specifications of Vespa LX 125, its top speed is 62 miles per hour. It has an air-cooled, two- valve, four-stroke, single-cylinder, CVT transmission engine that has an engine size of 124 cc. It weights 114 kg and its seat height is 785 mm. It doesn’t have a suspension adjustment in the front and its rear suspension adjustment is preload, four position. Its front brakes are twin-piston caliper, 200 mm disc and its rear brakes are 110 mm drum.

We can’t say that Vespa LX 125 is the best scooter choice that can be found on the market. What we can say is, it is the most stylish and attractive scooter around. LX 125 has a limited edition pink color option which is a first for Piaggio. Therefore especially among female scooter lovers, this model has a very big chance of becoming very popular. Piaggio plans to open a large manufacturing plant in India. In the near future we will be seeing lots of LX 125 scooters on Indian roads. If you can’t wait for a couple of years, you can always go to the Mumbai International auto show to see what Piaggio plans for the future.
