Volkswagen Polocup

The Volkswagen Polocup has been a fantastic Motorsport event held in India in the year 2010, it has also won the Motorsport of the year. The main highlight about the this Motorsport is that unlike the conventional racing, Volkswagen uses Diesel engines for racing. The polo gets Tuned 1.6 liter Common-rail diesel engine(CRDI) which puts out 130HP which seems to be very very less if you follow Formula one racing, but more than enough for Hatchback racing. The idea behind the Motorsport is to Nurture talents form India In fact, People who raced were between 16-25 years.
   
 The difference under the Skin from the regular road car is that is gets a bigger breaks, Rollcage, bigger tyres and alloys, body kit, racing Suspension and racing seats. Under the Hood 1.2 liter 3 cylinder diesel is replaced with a torquey 1.6 liter engine. power jumps to 130 PS at 4400rpm and max torque is 250Nm between 1500-2500rpm. The Engine is stock with Minor changes to ECU programmme, engine mounts,flywheel,intake and exhaust system.
