Maruti Suzuki's K-series engine production crosses 10 lakh mark

Domestic car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), has announced that the production of its new generation K-series engines has achieved the production of 10 lakh units within three years since its launch.
The engine is powered in its models like WagonR, Swift, Estilo and Alto-K10. At first, the company has launched the K-series engine with its flagship export model A-Star in October 2008. Currently, the company produced the K-series engines in its Gurgaon-based facility.
Mr Shashank Srivastava, chief general manager (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India, said, “We feel proud that customers have really appreciated our offerings mounted with the next generation K-series engine. As market leader, we have continuously improved the technologies over the years.”
The company has powered the K-series engine in over 3.5 lakh units of A-Star, 1.9 lakh units of WagonR, 1.36 lakh units of Alto K-10, 1.05 lakh units of Estilo, 1.24 lakh units of Swift and 95,000 units of Ritz.
